- S08E21On the BeachMark decides to use his remaining time to help "fix" Rachel; he takes her to Hawaii to show her where he grew up; he teaches her how to surf and how to drive a stick shift. He catches her chasing one of his Percocet with a shot of vodka and confronts her about wasting her life. One day after surfing he has a seizure, and Rachel contacts Elizabeth, who soon arrives with little Ella. Elizabeth wants to take Mark home, but he refuses. Very early one morning, he dies. At his funeral stateside, old friends and colleagues pay their respects.
