Season 10, Episode 5 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit aired Tuesday, 28 October 2008 at 10pm ET on Peacock.
- S10E05RetroDetectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson find themselves in unfamiliar territory when Doctor Raye Massey calls them in to investigate the case of a baby infected with AIDS. The detectives enlist the help of Dr. Melinda Warner, a member of an AIDS surveillance team along with Dr. Massey. While Dr. Warner investigates the baby's medical case, Detectives Stabler and Benson discover that the baby had been prescribed ineffective vitamins by Doctor Gideon Hutton, who runs a "voodoo" medical practice. After the detectives probe for more answers, similar cases of mistreated AIDS surface, such as the death of Susan Ross' daughter. Her 18-year-old son Tommy Ross also gets pulled into the case, forcing him to decide whether to take on his mother's belief in homeopathic medicine or fight against it. With Dr. Warner's medical research and testimony, the case calls the ethics of Dr. Hutton's practices into question.
