After the Flood

Viewers who like a Yorkshire murder with the whole town tangled in it will settle in. Jo bends rules without apologising, and you see it when she copies the case file and uploads the dead man's DNA to a genealogy site on her own. Lorraine Ashbourne plays her mother Molly, a blunt local who blames the council for the flood defences and shrugs at Jo's shortcuts.

Each series is one investigation, not a case a week; the first opens on a disaster set piece, then settles into steady detective work.
