Is it for me?
Viewers who like a family drama that gets uneasy slowly, rather than jump scares, will find a lot here. Vera Farmiga plays Norma as fiercely determined and a little naive, and Freddie Highmore lets Norman's fear and menace show in his eyes while he stays gentle. Early on, the two have to hide what happened after the motel's bitter previous owner turns on Norma, with Sheriff Romero nearby.
Before you start
The first two seasons mix in small-town crime subplots alongside the Norma and Norman story, and later seasons focus more tightly on the family.
5 seasons, 50 episodes, 60 min each, about 50 hours so far
