Is it for me?
Patient gangster fans, the kind who like period suits and sudden violence over constant shootouts, get the most from it. Steve Buscemi plays Nucky as charming and put-upon, then cold when someone crosses him. Michael Stuhlbarg's soft-spoken Rothstein gives a long monologue on billiards, and it tells you more about this world than any gunfight.
Before you start
Season one takes its time laying out a wide cast, and the story moves faster from season two.
5 seasons, 56 episodes, 60 min each, about 56 hours so far
