Dark Winds

Patient mystery fans who like open landscape and quiet people over shootouts will settle in. Zahn McClarnon plays Leaphorn with no big gestures, and a look from him does the work of a speech. A man watches a helicopter pass overhead, and that glance ties the robbery to Navajo land. Between investigations the show stops for family and community scenes.

There is little filler, though the first case takes a couple of episodes to catch and season two moves faster.
