Is it for me?
Talky coming-of-age drama for viewers who like feelings explained out loud at length, and who can forgive that no real teenager talks this way. Dawson plans the perfect first kiss for a film class project, and the shoot goes wrong. Katie Holmes plays Joey dry and guarded, with a sly delivery that undercuts the speeches around her.
Before you start
Seasons one to four are set in high school; from season five most of the characters move to college and the episodes get looser.
