Is it for me?
Fans of cold, formal political intrigue will settle in; this is the Game of Thrones side of Dune rather than the desert spectacle. Emily Watson plays Valya with a stern, controlled face and feeling kept underneath, and Olivia Williams gives the stiff palace dialogue some life opposite her. In episode two, Sister Lila goes through the Agony, a risky ritual meant to connect her with her female ancestors.
Before you start
The first episodes are spent on setup and introducing many houses and characters, so give it time before the scheming picks up.
1 season, 6 episodes, 68 min each, about 7 hours so far
