Family Law

Viewers who want a legal show that jokes and then hurts within the same hour will fit right in. Jewel Staite plays Abby quirky and funny and does not sand down the moments when she is hard to like. The cases are often sad, like a pregnant couple afraid Social Services will take their baby, while a squabble over a dog keeps things light.

Each episode wraps up its own client case while the lawyers' family storylines carry over, so it suits watching one at a time.
