Is it for me?
Sci-fi skeptics who prefer a western with spaceships will find a crew worth sitting down with. Dialogue is sprinkled with Mandarin slang, and Alan Tudyk's pilot Wash keeps tense scenes funny. In one job, Mal agrees to rob a train, then balks on learning the crates hold medicine a mining town needs. Nathan Fillion plays him dry and bitter, with a decent streak underneath.
Before you start
The episodes aired out of sequence, so start with the two-hour pilot, Serenity, and keep to the intended order; most are self-contained jobs.
1 season, 11 episodes, 60 min each, about 12 hours so far
