Is it for me?
Crime-show viewers who care more about psychology and strange, staged murders than a whodunit will feel at home, as long as a strong stomach comes along. The horror is lush and darkly funny; investigators find bodies planted as beds for growing mushrooms. Mads Mikkelsen plays Hannibal soft-spoken and suave, so every polite conversation carries a threat. Hugh Dancy makes Will's strain hard to watch.
Before you start
Season one mostly runs a new case each episode; from season two it gets stranger, and season three splits into two distinct halves.
3 seasons, 39 episodes, 60 min each, about 39 hours so far
