Kaiju No. 8
ActionAnime2024Rated 7.3
Kafka Hibino, 32, cleans up the remains of giant monsters for a living, long after failing to join the Defense Force. When a young new recruit joins his crew, his old dream of fighting them returns.
Next season
Season 3announced, no date yet
Weekly, last aired Sat, 27 Sept 2025
Is it for me?
Monster-fight fans who also want to laugh at their lead will fit right in. Kafka stumbles about as often as he wins, and the show plays that for jokes between the big fights. His first meeting with Shinomiya, a young Defense Force star, turns into a clash right away, and watching a middle-aged underdog square up to a kid who is better at everything is half the fun.
Before you start
Season two picks up directly where the first stops, so watch in order; it adds more divisions and characters, and turns darker.
2 seasons, 23 episodes, 30 min each, about 11 hours so far
