Is it for me?
Mystery fans who like their superheroes rumpled and their small towns strange will settle in fast. Hal bickers with John like a hungover uncle with a nephew who did not ask for him, and Kyle Chandler plays him as a joker who can go flat serious without warning. In one early scene Hal starts a bar fight just to get locked in a cell beside the suspect.
Before you start
The timeline jumps between several years, with flashbacks to 1996 and 2016 woven through the murder case, so it helps to watch episodes close together.
1 season, 8 episodes, 60 min each, about 8 hours so far
