A bleak family drama for viewers who care more about the fallout of a missing child than about twists. Patrick Brammall plays Ian bitter and mournful, a man who will not be told to step back. In one early scene he follows a stray paw print to a dog breeder and finds pyjamas he knows. Maxine Peake gives Jenna a heavy-hearted edge.

One story runs straight through, so watch in order; it moves briskly and gives the family scenes as much room as the search.
