Is it for me?
Viewers who want a bloody, adult crime drama with a hero in it, closer to The Wire than to a Marvel romp, will settle in fast. Matt wears no armor, takes real hits, and needs time to recover between brawls. In one early scene he confesses to a priest, then heads out to hunt traffickers. Vincent D'Onofrio gives Fisk a slow, restrained menace that steals scenes.
Before you start
Season one plays as a single serialized story that starts slowly; the second spreads across more plots, and the third tightens up again.
3 seasons, 39 episodes, 55 min each, about 36 hours so far
