Mayor of Kingstown

Slow, grey crime drama for people who prefer a negotiation to a shootout. Most scenes are men in rooms trading favors, like the one where police want a fugitive meth cook dead in county jail and ask Mike to lean on rival gang leaders Duke and Bunny. Renner plays him tired and quiet, a man uneasy about the job who does it anyway. There is almost no relief.

Season one runs on a new problem to settle each week, so give it a few episodes; season two tightens up.
