Is it for me?
Patient crime-drama viewers who would rather hear a prisoner talk than watch a chase will settle in, especially if they liked Zodiac. Cameron Britton plays Ed Kemper as polite and articulate, and that courtesy makes his interview harder to sit through than any shouting would. Pop songs play over tense moments.
Before you start
The pilot is the slowest hour; the series picks up from episode two but stays talky and deliberate throughout.
