Is it for me?
Comfort viewers who like guessing the culprit will settle in, though the scripts are formulaic and the killer is often easy to spot. The company is the point. At a costume party, a guest dressed as Sherlock Holmes turns up dead, and the officials fix on the likeliest suspect while Jessica gathers the clues that lead elsewhere. Angela Lansbury plays her kind and sharp in the same breath.
Before you start
Every case stands alone, so start anywhere; in two mid-run seasons, supporting characters lead some episodes while Jessica only bookends them.
12 seasons, 264 episodes, 60 min each, about 266 hours so far
