Sci-fi viewers who would take a dry joke over a big battle will settle in quickly. Murderbot narrates in a flat inner voice, and Alexander Skarsgård gets contempt, violence and a soft spot for the overwrought serial Sanctuary Moon out of the same deadpan. Gurathin, the skeptic on the team, tries to trick it into showing how independent it really is.
