Is it for me?
Cosy mystery fans who want banter over dread will settle in fast, since the murder is a puzzle and the building is a playground. Charles hands out signed headshots to the staff instead of holiday tips, and at Tim Kono's memorial the residents fret more about a missing cat than about him. Martin Short's big theatrical energy bounces off Steve Martin's deadpan stillness.

Each season follows a new case in the same building, and later seasons lean harder on celebrity guest stars.
