Is it for me?
Viewers who followed Walter White down in Breaking Bad will know the mood, bleak and pressured, with almost no light moments. Jason Bateman plays Marty flat and controlled, a man doing sums while the room turns on him. Julia Garner's Ruth takes a dishwashing job at the Blue Cat to get near his money, and she is sharp about it. Laura Linney makes Wendy moving and sometimes funny.
Before you start
Season one is slow to click and the money laundering is explained late, so give the first few episodes some rope before the pace tightens.
4 seasons, 44 episodes, 61 min each, about 45 hours so far
