Is it for me?
Viewers who like catty socialites, big costumes and a room full of people trading barbs will be happy here. When Maxine hosts cocktails, the society women order elaborate drinks just to trip her up, and nobody stops smiling. Allison Janney gives the club's queen a sharp snap, while Carol Burnett gets laughs from looks and groans without moving much.
Before you start
Season one is a slow build, and the jokes take a few episodes to land, so give the first half room before you decide.
2 seasons, 20 episodes, 53 min each, about 18 hours so far
