Is it for me?
Hard-edged cop-show fans who don't mind violence get what they came for here, with torture and killings shown rather than implied. The characters are familiar types, the maverick lieutenant above all, so it suits viewers who like the genre more than those wanting surprises. One scene has Commissioner Fabiani deflecting Internal Affairs over a tense lunch, and the squad's friendships carry real weight between shootouts.

Season one is a single continuous story, so watch it in order; the smaller character details build up gradually.
