Person of Interest

Mystery fans who like an odd-couple pair will settle in quickly. The machine hands over only a Social Security number, so each case starts with Reese and Finch guessing whether that person needs saving or stopping. Reese leans on Detective Fusco until the cop becomes his inside source at the NYPD. Michael Emerson plays Finch fussy and polished, and Caviezel's Reese answers in few words and sudden fists.

Early seasons lean on a new case each week, so you can dip in; the later ones turn heavily serialized and need watching in order.
