Rivals

Viewers who want a guilty pleasure with big hair and bad behaviour will have a good time here, and nobody needs to take it seriously. David Tennant sulks about other people's inherited money, and a dinner party with unexpected guests turns into the kind of mess the show loves. Alex Hassell makes Rupert Campbell-Black outrageous and oddly likeable.

The opening episode throws a huge cast at you; give it two hours to learn who is married to whom, then it goes down easily.
