Is it for me?
Dry, understated comedy for people who like their jokes delivered flat and are willing to spend time with a family of snobs. Catherine O'Hara plays Moira as a faded soap star who treats every small humiliation like a final scene, and she slaps the mayor the way her old character would to get a contract signed. Stevie, the motel clerk, answers all of it deadpan.
Before you start
The first season is the slowest to settle, so give it time; later seasons are warmer.
