Is it for me?
Viewers who miss a fresh Star Trek adventure every week, and found Discovery and Picard too heavy, get what they wanted here. Pike treats his crew like family. Early on he hosts a casual dinner where they swap stories of missions gone wrong, and Uhura admits she doubts she belongs. Anson Mount plays him easygoing and fatherly, with a trace of worry underneath.
Before you start
Nearly every episode is a self-contained mission, so they work out of order, though characters carry small personal threads from one to the next.
4 seasons, 40 episodes, 53 min each, about 35 hours so far
