Is it for me?
Viewers who like a team trading jokes on a new planet each week, and who prefer goofy to grim, will settle in. Jack answers every crisis with a sarcastic aside, and Christopher Judge's Teal'c replies in a flat, literal voice that wins the exchange. On the first outing to another world, Carter argues with a society over its rules about women, and the team keeps working.
Before you start
Season one takes a while to settle into its weekly format; most missions stand alone.
