Ted

Viewers who like MacFarlane's crude humor, but want a loud family sitcom around it rather than cutaway gags, will settle in fast. Ted and John trade overlapping banter at speed, like when they prank-call the school bully Clive and pretend to be his absent father. Scott Grimes yells nearly every line as Matty, and Giorgia Whigham's Blaire is often the sensible one in the house.

Each episode tells its own story, so you can start anywhere; the family gets more screen time in season two.
