Is it for me?
Grim frontier drama for people who like Deadwood's power plays more than its gunfights, with a soapy streak under the solemn face. Gillian Anderson plays Constance cool and commanding, and when a bear kills the mayor she teams up with the sheriff and organises a town-wide hunt. Lena Headey keeps Fiona hard and guarded, and a romance between teens from the two rival households runs alongside.
Before you start
It is one continuous story that moves fast, so supporting characters get little room.
1 season, 7 episodes, 42 min each, about 5 hours so far
