The Brokenwood Mysteries

Midsomer Murders viewers who would happily swap village greens for farmland will settle in here, since the corpses turn up among vineyards and golf clubs instead. Neill Rea plays Mike as a veteran with a morbid sense of humour who puts suspects at ease. A visiting judge found dead in a fermenting vat at the town wine show suggests how odd the cases get.

You can start anywhere; the episodes are feature length and unfold slowly, so take them one at a time.
