The Devil's Hour
Thriller2022Rated 6.9
Lucy, a social worker and single mother, wakes at exactly 3:33 every night from vivid nightmares. Her son is withdrawn, her mother is losing her memory, and Lucy's name turns up in a murder case.
Starring Jessica Raine, Peter Capaldi, Nikesh Patel
Next season
Season 3announced, no date yet
Overdue, All at once, last aired Fri, 18 Oct 2024
Is it for me?
Puzzle-minded thriller fans who don't mind being a little lost will get the most out of it, because it mixes ghost-story unease with a police hunt and never settles on one. The scene that sells it is Gideon sitting calm in an interrogation room while someone questions him. Peter Capaldi plays him in small, controlled doses, and every appearance makes the rest of the show feel less safe.
Before you start
The first two episodes play like a straight haunted-house story, then the show turns into a different kind of puzzle midway through season one.
2 seasons, 11 episodes, 59 min each, about 11 hours so far
