Is it for me?
Downton and Poldark viewers who want a melancholy love story more than a sharp plot will be well looked after. At a family wedding early on, the matriarch lectures the young generation on what a Forsyte must never do, and Francesca Annis plays her as the one who sets the rules. Sweeping exterior shots make the city look like a dollhouse.
Before you start
The first episode starts slowly and then jumps ten years ahead, with flashbacks filling in backstory later, so give it a little time to settle.
1 season, 6 episodes, 75 min each, about 7 hours so far
