The Four Seasons

Grown-up viewers who like friends bantering across a dinner table more than they like punchlines will settle in here. The laughs come from awkwardness, and the opening weekend starts out easy and affectionate before the news lands and everyone's manners begin to wobble. Will Forte plays it restrained rather than broad, and Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani make an open marriage funny and tender.

Each getaway runs across two episodes, so it plays in short, self-contained chapters; one pair at a time works as well as a long sitting.
