Is it for me?
Crime-of-the-week viewers who would rather watch a trap spring than guess the killer will settle in quickly. Simon Baker plays Jane as a smiling, unbothered manipulator, and the best scenes are him steering suspects until they talk themselves into trouble. One early case has him turn four surfer friends on each other until their shared guilt comes out.
Before you start
Episodes are mostly a case a week; the killer hunt grows in the middle seasons, and the last two change the setup and feel lighter.
7 seasons, 151 episodes, 60 min each, about 151 hours so far
