Is it for me?
Malcolm in the Middle fans who want a warmer, shabbier family will feel at home. Frankie narrates her own bad days in a dry voice, and the jokes land when what she says and what happens on screen disagree. She packs a car from the lot with jelly beans for a stunt, and the doors jam shut. Neil Flynn plays Mike by saying almost nothing, and it works every time.
Before you start
The kids take the first season to settle into their voices, so give it until season two.
9 seasons, 215 episodes, 30 min each, about 108 hours so far
