Is it for me?
Star Trek fans who wouldn't mind a few dumb jokes in their hopeful future will like it here. Seth MacFarlane plays the captain mostly straight, which lets the gags come from the crew's bickering instead. Alien zookeepers lock Ed and Kelly in a copy of their old home, and the two trade barbs through it while Alara runs the ship. Not every joke lands, but the cast is easy company.
Before you start
Episodes are mostly self-contained, so start anywhere, but the tone moves from broad comedy toward more serious science fiction as the seasons go on.
3 seasons, 36 episodes, 63 min each, about 38 hours so far
