Is it for me?
A hard-edged war drama for viewers who can do without the barracks warmth of Band of Brothers. Leckie promises a neighbor back home that he will write, and James Badge Dale plays that letter-writer with a dry wit that cuts through the grimness. Between battles the Marines drink and go AWOL in Melbourne, and the show lets them look as worn out as they are.
Before you start
The first couple of episodes jump between three men you don't know yet, so give them time; it locks in once Peleliu starts.
1 season, 10 episodes, 60 min each, about 10 hours so far
