Is it for me?
Talky ensemble drama for people who enjoy smart colleagues arguing at speed and don't mind a speech that gets a little earnest. The staff delivers its lines while striding down corridors, with the camera following them in a long take. In one scene, Bartlet demands a harsh reply to an attack and an admiral tells him the strike would be out of proportion. Allison Janney makes C.J. fast and flamboyant.
Before you start
The first four seasons move fast, season five slows down, and the last two pick the pace back up.
7 seasons, 154 episodes, 60 min each, about 154 hours so far
