The White Lotus

Wince-through-your-fingers comedy for people who enjoy watching the rich embarrass themselves. Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya, refused a massage and led in a chant by spa manager Belinda instead, shows the tone. Murray Bartlett plays Armond with a smile that holds while everything under it tightens. The staff notice what the guests miss, and that is where the laughs land.

Each season has a new cast and resort, so order barely matters; the first two move fastest and later ones start slower.
