Is it for me?
Mystery fans who like their heroine sarcastic and their dialogue fast will settle in quickly. Kristen Bell delivers the hard-boiled narration dry enough that it never turns cute. Early on, Veronica cuts down new kid Wallace, duct-taped to the school flagpole, and picks up a biker gang as enemies for it. Enrico Colantoni gives her father Keith a wry warmth that makes the home scenes worth staying for.
Before you start
Seasons one and two pair a weekly case with a long mystery; season three uses shorter arcs, and season four is a harsher eight-episode run.
4 seasons, 72 episodes, 60 min each, about 72 hours so far
