Wild Cards

It's easy comfort viewing for people who like a consultant-style case show with plenty of banter. Giacomo Gianniotti plays Ellis gruff and dry, while Vanessa Morgan's Max changes accent and manner mid-conversation. A talk about porch pirates turns into a dead sports agent in a condo, and Max's father, George, hands out advice from his jail cell.

Each episode is mostly a new case, so you can drop in anywhere; the leads' personal threads run alongside and reward watching in order.
