Is it for me?
It plays as a pulpy Western soap for people who like Dallas-style scheming and don't mind it getting loud. Costner plays John as a weathered patriarch who answers a land dispute by rerouting a river so a developer wakes to a dry bed. Beth, played by Kelly Reilly, threatens people to get her way and enjoys it, and the ranch work between fights keeps the scale real.
Before you start
The first two seasons are the tightest; later ones spread the story across more characters and side plots.
5 seasons, 53 episodes, 60 min each, about 60 hours so far
